A classic Italian dessert, Tiramisu is a layered pudding, often considered a cake, that is flavoured with lashings of coffee! It can be made in a variety of shapes and you can make this luscious dessert completely ahead of time to wow your dinner party guests!

Our special recipe combines our Country Puddings Creamy Vanilla Custard, yummy mascarpone cheese, espresso-soaked sponge fingers and a dash of brandy.

This recipe serves 6 – 8.

  • 500g vanilla custard
  • 250g marscapone cheese
  • 5 tbs Marsala wine
  • 3 tbs freshly made coffee
  • 1½ oz caster sugar
  • 2 tbs brandy
  • Pack of 36 sponge fingers
  • Cocoa powder and chocolate covered coffee beans to decorate

Line a loaf tin with cling film.

Place the custard, cheese and Marsala wine in to the bowl and mix together well.

Make coffee, add sugar and brandy.

Dip 12 of the sponge fingers into the coffee and line the base of the loaf tin.

Spoon half of the custard / cheese mixture on top.

Repeat, and finish with the last 12 fingers of soaked sponge on top.

Refrigerate overnight, to allow the moisture to soak into the sponge.

Turn pudding upside down onto serving plate.

Remove cling film.

Decorate with cocoa powder and beans.

Most importantly… indulge and enjoy!
